American or European Roulette

Regardless of where you choose to enjoy your gaming experience, there are always options as to the types of games you play. Roulette, for example, has two main variations. American Roulette is relatively new to the casino scene, and has largely replaced the older European Roulette as the game of choice in American casinos.American roulette consists of wheel placed upon a roulette table. The wheel has spaces numbered from 00 to 36. Each space is colored red or black except for the 00 space, which is green in color. Gamblers can bet on a specific number or they can choose to bet on a color or a range of numbers. The lower the odds of winning the bet, the higher the payout. Specific number bets often pay out as high as 35 to 1. In European roulette, there is no 00 space. The odds of winning are roughly the same, and the payouts are similar. Where European roulette differs most from American roulette is that in European roulette there is often a progressive jackpot, as well. This progressive jackpot can, for an additional bet, pay out a much larger sum to the winner, based upon the amount that is currently in the bank. Often, these progressive jackpots can have millions of euro in them. This provides incredible incentive for players to participate in the progressive jackpot, which allows the jackpot to grow even faster.
