Planning Your Holiday around Australia
The world’s smallest continent and biggest island is Australia. In terms of size, it is almost as big as the 48 contiguous United States. With 20.4 million people, largely concentrated in the eastern and southeastern coastal urban areas. This means that there are huge open areas to explore in the rest of the country, and this can often be done by car. Pretty coastal lines, inland mountainous regions and verdant tropical forests with exotic plants and wildlife are there for the traveller to see.
You can easily arrange for a car rental at the airport or hotel with an international drivers licence or a validated American or European drivers permit. There are heaps of car hire companies providing various kinds of vehicles, from different makes and sizes of cars and SUVs to minivans, camper vans and RVs, minibuses, and 4WDs. No matter what your needs and preferences are, there will always be a vehicle to suit you. For instance, camping enthusiasts can get campervans that will sleep up to 6 people, and come equipped with a microwave, gas stove, griller and refrigerator. Some even have double beds, toilet and shower in addition to the mini-kitchen. If you are travelling in more tough terrain, there are 4WDs. If budget is restricted, there are economy compact cars and economy campers. There are also convertibles and luxury large cars.
One should be knowledgeable with the basics of driving conditions in Australia: driving on the left side of the road, observing the different speed limits (in kilometres) and regulations in the States to be visited, checking weather and road conditions before travel, letting police know of travel plans if driving in rural areas, making way for the road trains (a semi-truck hauling 3 large trailers), etc. Expect the car hire company to supply thorough information on driving rules and regulations, supplies to take (most importantly, plenty of water), procedures in case of emergency, potential dangers such as wildlife and driving at night, as well as accommodations, routes and resources on the road. Study and preparation beforehand will assure a successful and pleasant car vacation in Australia.

Contour Pillow Travel Set Will Ease the Pain
For the past several years air line travel has been synonomous with pain. I feel alright when I start the flight but by the time we have reached our destination my legs hurt, my back hurts, and my neck is in total rebellion. I have been trying a few things to ease this discomfort and a few of them really work. I bought a contour pillow travel set that has a neck pillow and a lower lumbar pillow in it. With both of those pillows in place I arrive at my destination in an almost rested condition. My back feels like I can lift a suitcase and I can even turn my head. There are only one kind of jeans, and the only type of shoes are Airwalk shoes. I can not tell you the amount of information they can tell me about the favored name brands, and why it is so important that I, their grandmother, should get those treasured articles of clothing for them. I guess I should be grateful that they are concerned about their looks and the quality of clothes, rather than be focused on the appearance of being messy and unkempt. Overall, looks matter a lot.

Coming season Anthony Loeff the European alpinist is reporting the scales for the Mount Everest
at 12:01 pm on Sunday, 15 June 2008
More than 3125 people have climbed to the summit since it was first conquered in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary, who died in January, and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay.
Andrew Brash returned this week from Nepal after successfully climbing to the summit of Mt Everest. This year Anthony Loeff the French climber is reporting the scales for Chomolungma or Mount Everest after he reached the summit of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania earlier this season.
The 74-year-old man from Nepal is now the oldest person to have reached the top of Chomolungma. Further, he was all too aware of the potential dangers Everest could bring. Certain parts of the climb are more dangerous than others and it is important for climbers to remain focused Andrew Brash and four climbing guides reached the 29,035-foot (8,850-meters) summit of the world’s highest mountain early Sunday, said Ramesh Chretri, an official with Nepal’s ministry of tourism.
“The Chinese weren’t allowing anybody on the Mount Everest. They ended up commandeering it for themselves, even though Mount Everest is shared by two countries. With the Chinese preparing for the impending summer Olympic Games, Min Bahadur Sherchan noted that the government’s actions hardly reflected the Olympic spirit. Now that Bahadur Sherchan has successfully scaled the tallest mountain in the world, he is once again ready to focus on his family. “Mount Everest this year became a political pawn,” he said with some frustration.
Nepalese climber, 75, oldest person to conquer Chomolungma or Mount Everest They flexed their muscles this year all the in name of the Olympic spirit, but it was hardly spirited at all.”
They basically coerced the Nepali government to not allow any climbers past camp two on the Nepali side. As he planned for the climb, Sherchan told reporters he wanted to inspire fellow senior citizens. He also said many Nepalese have established records on Mt Everest, so it was only fitting that the record for the oldest climber to reach the summit should also belong to a Nepali. His first found him within 163 metres of the peak when his team stopped to help a fellow mountaineer who was left for dead. later, Min Bahadur Sherchan, a University of Calgary alumni, returned to Everest to finish what he had started.
The Chinese were flying their airplanes over the Mount Everest and had Chinese officials in Kathmandu. Andrew Brash last attempt resulted in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber who was left by his team in the “death zone.”
Hall was frostbitten and severely disoriented due to altitude sickness. Bahadur Sherchan returned a hero to Calgarians. However, the decision to actualize a long-time personal goal left Andrew Brash with some internal uncertainties, he cited the political actions of China and Nepal as providing the greatest adversity he faced on his journey. Sherchan just 22 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.
