Where are the impassioned debates over whether a hero or heroine should live, die, take a risk, or be absorbed into the giant blob of nothingness? What happened to all the thud and beauty threads dedicated to popular actors and actresses? Why do we no longer see dozens of active online communities dwelling on the endless possibilities of how their favorite movie and television franchises should play out? Why did the fans leave the Web?
A few Websites staunchly maintain a defense against the hemorraging of the science fiction and fantasy fan communities but their efforts are few and far between. On some days these sites barely breathe, despite occasional flare-ups of activity.
